How to get more Google reviews (the right way)

Reviews win you the next customer. Here is a simple, policy-friendly routine to get more of them.

When people search for a local business, reviews are often the first thing they see. More recent, genuine reviews make it easier for new customers to choose you.

1. Get your direct review link

In your Google Business Profile, find the option to ask for reviews and copy the short link. It takes customers straight to the review box, with no searching.

2. Ask at the right moment

The best time is right after a job goes well, while the customer is happy and it is fresh in their mind. Same day is ideal.

3. Keep the ask short and personal

"Thanks for choosing [Business], [Name]! If we did a good job, would you mind leaving a quick review? It really helps us: [link]"

4. Send one reminder, not five

If they do not respond, one friendly reminder a few days later is fine. More than that starts to feel pushy.

5. Reply to every review

Thank people for good reviews, and respond calmly and helpfully to critical ones. Future customers read your replies too.

What not to do

  • Do not offer rewards (discounts, gifts) in exchange for reviews. Google's policies prohibit incentivized reviews.
  • Do not only ask happy customers while steering unhappy ones away ("review gating"). That is also against Google's policies.
  • Never write or buy reviews.
How SuperIQ helps: add your Google review link once, and a review request goes out automatically after each appointment.
